A.M. Best, an independent provider of insurer ratings since 1899,
awards its A+ (Superior) financial strength rating to Cincinnati's standard
market property casualty group. A.M. Best awards only about 10 percent of
property casualty insurer groups with its A+ or A++ rating in the Superior
category. A.M. Best comments on the standard property casualty group’s rating:
"The rating reflects CIC’s superior risk-adjusted capitalization, generally
redundant reserves, historically strong operating performance, and
successful distribution within its targeted regional markets centered on
harnessing strong relationships with local independent insurance
agencies."

capitalization, high-quality liquid bond portfolio and well-managed and
adequate property casualty reserves in awarding its A+ (Strong) insurer

insurance companies. Fitch has a stable outlook.
